Whistle Cat Farm

We’re a small market farm located in Cumberland, Maine. Since the spring of 2024, we've been cultivating mixed vegetables, bringing you the unique flavors and varieties that only freshly harvested local produce can offer. Our small, dedicated team brings enthusiasm and joy to all that we do, and we truly believe that everyone deserves to enjoy great food. Find our produce at our Farm Store or become a member of our CSA program - we'd love to be your farmers!

Welcome!

Volunteer Opportunity!

Sign up Required!

Even you, friends and family

We need to know you are coming thanks :)

Come get your hands dirty! We invite you to volunteer on the farm every Wednesday from 5 - 7 PM starting June 4th at 22 Wild Apple Lane. We will have options to help pack (ex. Fill half pound bags, or pint containers), or work in the field (probably lots of weeding).  It’s a great way to learn, meet new friends, and see where your food is grown.

No experience needed — just wear sturdy shoes and bring water. We recommend volunteering without your kids first to get an idea of what is involved.

Please park on the wood chips in front of the Farm Stand on your right when you turn onto Wild Apple Lane.

Become a Member - Join our CSA!

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA): connects local farmers with members who purchase a "share" of the farm's produce before the growing season. Members receive regular deliveries of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables once the harvest begins.

Our 2025 CSA includes:

  • 22 weeks of organically grown, seasonal vegetables (late May through October)

  • Pick-up options in Yarmouth, Cumberland, Portland, and South Portland

  • Choice of two share types - customizable or “farmer’s choice”

  • Two share sizes to suit your cooking and eating needs

  • Seasonal add-on options including locally baked bread and locally grown flowers and fruit

  • A-la-carte weekly add-on options including grains, dairy, coffee and more (will become available as CSA deliveries start)

  • Pre-packed shares for quick and easy pick-ups

*** Our CSA is full for now, to join the waitlist, click “join waitlist” button below, click on the share you are interested in and enter your email. ***

What are the benefits of CSA membership?

  1. Get the best of what’s in season - you’ll be making tastier, more creative meals without even trying! You can taste a real difference in fresh, organically grown produce harvested at its peak and delivered to you the very same week (or day!). You’ll discover new tastes, colors, and techniques by cooking and eating varieties not always available  at the grocery store.

  2. Make an investment in your health - you’re gonna want to eat the rainbow! Everything you receive in your share (or shares) is nutrient-packed, organic food that’s free from pesticides and chemicals. It’s easy to eat well and feel great with all this good food!

  3. Support local small farmers - your food dollars make a difference! Help us exist and grow a stronger local food system. Small farms like us can often pay employees better, respond to environmental changes and community needs more quickly, and employ more regenerative techniques than the big guys - the more small farms the better!

  4. Customize away! We know that committing to a CSA can be a big deal, so we want it to work for you! We’ve got a customizable share option so you can fit your deliveries to your taste preferences - whether you’re into greens, root veggies, or fresh herbs, we’ve got you covered.

  5. Eating locally is a good idea! Friends are more fun to hang out with when they aren't jet lagged. Vegetables are the same way.
